Fresh Herb Hack

Wasted food. What is it good for? Absolutely nothing! 🎵

There’s nothing worse than taking the time to grow and care for your own herb garden and then having those herbs go to waste because you’ve run out of time to use them. Next time, consider this hack to keep them fresh and ready to go well into the next season!

Herb “Ice” Cubes

What you’ll need:

  • Ice cube tray (s)
  • Olive oil
  • Summer herbs
  • Scissors
  • Knife

Snip.

Gather all of your potted herbs, some scissors, and start snipping. Avoid any browning leaves (quite honestly, I may or may not have let the basil go too long).

Chop.

Grab your knife and chop the herbs roughly, setting them into piles.

Soak.

Sprinkle your herbs in the bottom of the ice cube tray. Fill each compartment with a different herb, or be daring and mix a few together. Drizzle olive oil on the herbs, soaking them completely to the top.

Freeze.

Done.
